Canadian chiropractors adopt evidence-informed practice principles to guide clinical decision making by integrating their clinical expertise, patient’s preferences and values, and the best available scientific evidence. Each has completed a rigourous academic and practical education (including national standardized educational requirements) and passed a licensing examination to become a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). Chiropractors are well-trained to help you enhance your health and wellness by taking preventive measures to avoid injury, by providing lifestyle and nutritional counseling, and by prescribing therapeutic exercise.
Chiropractic adjustment can help restore function, relieve pain, and get you back in the swing of your daily activities. The benefits of Chiropractic Care include: improved movement in your neck, shoulders, back and torso, better posture, relief from headaches, neck and back pain, improved flexibility, relief of pregnancy-related backache, correction of gait and foot problems.
Specific training in spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) allows chiropractors to provide adjustments using highly-skilled and precise movements to the vertebrae of the spine, correcting joint motion to restore proper movement and improve function. (This motion can be accompanied by an audible pop. When a joint is adjusted, an air bubble may escape from the joint capsule causing the popping noise, similar to cracking your knuckles.)
Your first visit with us will last approximately 45 minutes. One of our chiropractors will complete a review of your history, assess and evaluate your overall health, and collaborate with you to create your treatment plan. A treatment will be included with your initial assessment.
Follow-up appointments will last about 15 minutes.
If it has been more than one year since your last treatment, the Chiropractic Association of Saskatchewan mandates that a re-evaluation be completed. These do take approximately half an hour.
We are WCB, SGI, and Medavie accredited.
