In The Community

Brownstone Health was founded, owned and is operated out of Regina, Saskatchewan.  Our staff & practitioners live in Regina, and are contributing members of our local community.  Each practitioner chooses organizations and activities that have personal meaning, sharing time & energy, giving back to our community.

We are 100% locally owned and operated. We care about our friends & neighbours. We spent a lot of time in deliberation about what the best way we could give back to the community that has supported us for nearly 20 years. We decided to do what we do best- treat our clients. But I determined that the clinic would target some areas that we are passionate about, and that we feel may be challenging for people to access adequate care. This program has been created to address that need.

You may notice on the receipt of some of our programs and sessions the words “community cares subsidy” added to the item description. This is how we indicate that I have absorbed a substantial portion of the cost of the care in order to provide better accessibility to people during challenging economic times. This subsidy is from me. It is directly from the clinic bottom line. This is my way of continuing to give back as much as I can to the people of Regina who trust us with their health. This program is open to all of our current clients, past clients, and any future clients. There is no application process. I believe this can serve more people, with better outcomes, than the individual sponsorships we receive requests for. While this may not be helping us with a profit margin, it helps me sleep well at night. We have had one clinic in Saskatoon reach out to replicate our model and we will graciously share it with any other clinic interested.

I opened the doors of this business in 2009, riding the highs & the lows of being an entrepreneur, as well as the uncertainties of the pandemic. This clinic has grown, changed & matured over the years- but one thing is certain, it lives in a state of constant flux. We are exclusively dependent upon the people of Regina- you have helped us grow. We are honoured you have chosen us to be a part of your current journey.

In 2024, our Training Room program donated over $32000 of physiotherapy treatment to athletes that are part of our featured teams. We are so proud that we can help these players and performers access care quickly.

With our subsidy, we have found our way to do our best to make a difference. The training room helped 68 athletes with 406 appointments that may have been challenging to access otherwise. But, drum roll, the classes and additional programming helped people save over $76 000 compared to one-on one regular rates. These savings allowed them to stretch their dollars into enough visits to thoroughly complete programs. We were able to make care accessible and affordable through over 1400 bookings!

As a local business, we are asked by people on a weekly basis for sponsorship, donations and funding. We are a small business, with independent contractors running smaller businesses out of our facility. We are excited for your events, and we commend you for the work you do, but we see our organization the most valuable by the donation of our time and services to the community. After the initial success of Training Room, we intend to continue this initiative.

To everyone that has been involved in this, from admin through practitioners, referrals and word of mouth support, this initiative has grown into something we are all very proud of.
