- Yes, we do charge for these services if they need to be completed outside of your scheduled treatment time. As our professionals need to set time aside to fill your forms out properly, we do recognize that their time is valuable. We also want them to eat lunch on their lunch breaks and go home to their families at the end of their scheduled day. Therefore, we have associated fees for services outside the regular scope of assessment/treatment so our professionals can block time from their schedules to fulfill your requests.
- Only if your private insurance requires one. It is in your best interest to check with your private insurance plan to ensure all requirements are met. We do have minimal coverage from the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region for physiotherapy for anyone that does not have private insurance. Physiotherapy is not covered under your provincial health card. As of July 1, 2017, the Government of Saskatchewan no longer provides the social assistance program for chiropractic care.
- With regards to counseling and psychology, we are affiliated with various EAP/EFAP plans. Please check with your provider prior to booking with our mental health team.
- You can book by clicking the “book appointment” tab at the top of this page, and filling in your information on the Jane App.
- Congratulations for taking time to invest in your health. Thank-you for giving us an opportunity to be part of your journey. To optimize the effects of your session, we have a few suggestions:
- Be Gentle with Yourself. If you feel tired, rest. If you feel energized, enjoy the sensation without overdoing your activity.
- Hydrate. Drink a glass or two of water after your session. Many of our health treatments involve increasing circulation, which assists in detoxification of your body.
- Gentle exercise. A mindful slow walk, or comfortable stretching, may assist in the desired outcome from your practitioner’s treatment.
- Eat well. Nourish your system with the healthy food including the minerals and nutrients you require to heal. Supplement, if required.
- Listen & Relax. Your body knows what it needs. Give it the opportunity to tell you. Add some salts to a warm bath and take a few minutes to soak and enjoy.
- Maximize Comfort. Some more aggressive manual therapy treatments will leave you with mild post-treatment discomfort. These sensations should not last more than 24 hours. Applying ice or heat as per your practitioners’ recommendation may help. Also consider topical creams or lotions, if needed.
Ice or Heat?
If you experience an injury or undergo surgery, it is important to only use ice during the acute phase of healing (for the first 72 hours post injury/surgery). After the acute phase (72 hours), you can choose ice or heat, or alternate between them.
Ice = Cooling, Slowing, Brittle
Application: 12-14 minutes per hour only (please avoid skin damage and/or frostbite from leaving the ice on too long).
Method: Ice water immersion (stick your foot/hand in a bucket of cold water with ice cubes). Ice pack- be sure to put a cloth barrier between the pack and your skin! Ice would be appropriate after activity, not before your exercises.
Heat = Softening, Increased Blood Flow, Melting
Application: Maximum of 20 minutes per hour.
Method: Hot pack, warm bath, electric heating pad (be sure to use a timer and not fall asleep on the pad). Cautions: Do not apply heat or ice over a topical paraesthesia (think Tiger balm or Deep cold).
What Not To Do
Do not apply heat or ice over areas of impaired or diminished sensation.
Do no apply heat or ice over pregnant abdomens, eyes, genitals, both sides of the neck at the same time, or superficial nerve locations.
Do not apply ice if you have Reynaud’s syndrome or adverse reactions in the past.
